error when adding ?chromeless to dashboard link

Hello,

 

Using power bi pro version here. Trying to display one of the reports on a big screen.

 

Sharing link works fine, but if i add ?chromeless=1 extension to hide power bi interface, i'm getting to the sign in screen, and if click sign in button i'm being forwarded to HTTP ERROR 404 page.

 

Tried 2 pc's, different browsers (chrome, internet explorer, edge) getting same results. Once logining in tried both yes and no on a popup if i want to stay logged in - same results.

 

Anyone else experiencing similar behavior?

QR Codes

Is there a way to have a QR code for each of your different products so that when you scan the QR code, you get the sales information for say the past month by day?  Would I literally have to create a different report for each inventory item?  For example, create a table (filter for each inventory item), with date, sales and then create a QR Code?    

 

We want to be able to scan QR code and see the information without using a slicer to choose which inventory item.

Report doesnt show properly in app.powerbi.com

Good night everyone, hope someone can help me please.

I created reports from a Live Connection between SSAS MD and PowerBI Desktop. Everything fine, then I published and I got the message that it was successful. I went to app.powerbi.com and set the gateway cluster and data source settings and got the message: You are good to go. 

 

But when l select my report from Report tab it doesn't show the charts. There's a message in pink at top (please see attached) about error in data source

 

I've installed SQL Server, SSAS, SSDT and PowerBI Desktop in my personal laptop (in order to complete this school project).

 

Thanks for your time. Promise this is my last question.

Refresh DataFlow With PowerShell Error ( Working for Dataset)

I got following error when doing a dataflow update using Powershell 

It is working for dataset though.

Report is not loading - "An error occured. Something Went Wrong. Please try again later."

I recently updated certificate for power bi report server end point . Now reports are not loading and showing below error. I can navigate to folders, create folder, but existing reports do not load. What am I missing here ?

Programmatically Save PDF's to Fileshare/OneDrive

Hello,

 

Does PowerBI Service OR PowerBI Report Server have the ability to save report PDF's to a fileshare/OneDrive folder on a schedule?

Example:

- Every day at 0300

- Save each of our customer reports, as a PDF, to a customer folder in OneDrive or to an on-prem fileshare

Does anyone know how to get static files out of Power BI on a schedule?

Powerbi Service to Amazon Redshift Private cluster

Hello

 

We want to connect to Amazon Redshift cluster, which is in private subnet from PowerBI service, but we are not able to connect. We like to have a Direct Query instead of import option and a refresh for 15 mins. instead of 30mins..

 

I see a post of 2018, saying that we need to use Gateway in EC2 machine, but this will not give us an option to use Direct Query feature.

 

Could someone please help if it's possible to connect to private Amazon Redshift cluster from PowerBI service, without GATEWAY

Gateway error connecting to PostgreSQL

I get this error when setting up a new datasource to PostgreSQL in my Gateway in the Service:

 

"Unable to connect: We encountered an error while trying to connect to . Details: "We could not register this data source for any gateway instances within this cluster. Please find more details below about specific errors for each gateway instance.
Status code: 400
Error Code: DMTS_PublishDatasourceToClusterErrorCode
p-gateway: Unable to connect to the data source undefined.
Underlying error message: Please install Npgsql version 4.0.10.0 or earlier."

 

I did install Npgsql 4.0.10.0, restarted everything but it doesn't work.

Data Flows Using Google Drive Are Having Problems

I keep getting this error message today and have zero idea what to do. I've read the blog post that's frequently linked to from here for disabling the load, but I've had 2017, 2018, and 2019 all using this code so that didn't have any impact. The issue is that it happened when I tried to create 2020 and now 2019 is broken too. I'm just been spinning in circles today trying to navigate different potential solutions with no luck.

Dataflows & Sharepoint task lists - Get data error

Hi PBI Community,

I have been trying to connect sharepoint lists into a dataflow, to have all of my sharepoint lists in one place to select for reporting. I've come across a strange inconsistency between power bi dataflows and power bi desktop.

I am able to get data from the sharepoint lists option in power bi desktop when the list type is list and tasks list. Yet when I try to load from the exact same source in power bi dataflows, an error is returned for the lists that are the tasks list list type. The general list type list connect fine. Again, PBI desktop connects lists and tasks lists without error.

The error is: DataSource.Error: SharePoint: Request failed: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. (An error occurred while processing this request.)

Could anyone advise why there might be this inconsistency between power bi desktop and dataflows? Is it a bug?

Container exited unexpectedly with code 0x0000DEAD

Just checking to see whether other users of Premium are experiencing this error intermittantly over the last couple of days?  I've had a few refreshes fail with this message.  Subsequent refreshes of the models work fine, so its not a big deal (so far).

 

Our capacity is in South-East Asia, in case thats relevant to other users also having problems.  So far there is nothing relevant listed on the support page here:

Decomposition Tree Visual is not working in Power BI Service

Dear community,

 

Since last week, I have observed a strange behaviour of a visual in Power BI Service. Previously, the Decomposition Tree Visual was able to be viewed in Power BI app(service) after the report has been published but currently I am getting an error saying couldn't load data for this visual.

Hello,

Since we linked the workspace to a dedicated capacity (A2 service tier) we get this error in the powerbi service:

The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. Table: Today

 

The table is changing every time. Refresh is going fine in power BI desktop and in another workspace (not linked to a dedicated capacity)

 

We already upgraded the capacity to a A2 service tier because the memory workload was to high. But we can't find a way to see which report is using the most memory and how to reduce this. We don't have memory trashing after the upgrade.


Don't know for sure if this is related to the data refresh. The report that is failing to refresh is using OData, SQL and dataflow connections.

 

Hope someone can help us with this matter.

Pausing Dataset refresh Manually

Hi,

 

There may be a quick answer to this question.....We have a number of datasets that are scheduled to refresh on a daily basis at 07:30. Recently we have come across some issues which have lead us to ask the question is it possibly to manually pause the dataset refreshes until a fix has been applied to the DWH? Note: we are not the power bi administrators.

Hi all,

I am certainly a PBI novice and have relied on these forums and communities to help me get me Power BI up and running- so taking this opportinity to to say thanks to everyone 🙂

 

I have published reports online using a Power BI APP (via desktop).  The data is being retrived from an oracle database

 

I have a process where a user downloads the report and uses the data to do finance tasks.

 

Is there a way for them as a user to be able to mark the records in the report as "actioned" with a data?  Or perhaps aEssentially can they add data/ annotate the records for specific fields in the reports I am publishing?

Gateway issue "Not configured Correctly"

Hello,

 

Some of my colleagues are not able to set connection to gateways to schedule a refresh. Most of the team are able to do that with no issue, but some individuals that have same rights cannot connect to gateway. The gateway doesn't get mapped automatically and throws error "Not Configured Correctly".

Let’s say my parameters are 1-100 (Project ID’s) . Right now, if I select multiple parameters, I get the data for all the parameters in a single report. I want 3 individual reports to be generated with the same format for my multiple parameter selection. If I select 1,10, and 20 as my parameters in the report builder, I must get 3 separate or individual reports with the same format for 1, 10 and 20 respectively. This should work for any number of parameter selection where I must get separate reports of the same format for all parameter selection. Is it possible to do such thing in the BI Report Builder? Is there any other way to achieve this if it's not possible in BI Report Builder? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.
