Is there any way to export a Power BI report from the service to Powerpoint, while maintaining hyperlinks in the report? I'm struggling because when exporting to PowerPoint, everything generates as an image. Is there ANY alternative to this? Using some sort of Power Flow, a third party solution, etc?
I know that links are maintained when exporting to PDF, but my end users really need to be able to export to PowerPoint so that they can add onto the slides for other purposes.
Clearly there is SOME sort of hyperlink functionality when exporting to PowerPoint from Power BI because the automatically generated first page includes a link back to the Power BI report. Just not sure how that's happening on the backend.

Hello Community - Quick question/clarifcation
I have a report that I want to share with certain users. The workspace the report is in has a lot of people in it, but I only want certain people in that workspace to be able to see this report.
When I click on permissions, it shows a number of people with "direct access" but I have only shared the report (via a link) with one person. Can the "direct access" people even see the report if I have not shared it with them? Otherwise, how would they know it exist? Again, ideally I do not want most of the people on the direct access list to even see the report. Thanks
We are testing out the new Paginated Report Visual within Power BI reports. We have multiple uses cases for this kind of functionality and so were excited to be able to use it (FYI one use case will be resolved with the upcoming export to excel with formatting, but there are others situations as well such as speed, reusability, flexibility without needing to design custom visuals). However, one deal breaker is that it doesn't work for us when using the PBI report through embedded. We've tested this through our application and through the PBI playground sandbox and the visual is just blank. Directly in the desktop or the service, the visual comes up fine for the PBI report. Is this a known limitation or issue or is this something we may be able to resolve?
When embeding a Power BI Dashboard in MS Teams, only one tab view is available...this is the first tab. Is there a way to make it so users can browse thru the other tabs in the dashboard?

old user with a new username here :).
I have a Power BI desktop report which connects to MySQL database on the cloud. I did all modifications and published the report on Power BI Online service.
Now, i am trying to do the data refresh, but it fails. Power BI Online doesn't want to connect to MySQL server on the cloud.
Instead it requires a personal gateway so it can connect to my laptop and refresh the dataset. Data Source credentials are greyed out.
I have read somewhere that only Azure databases are supported for this refresh. The desktop report works perfect.
Is this true?
Can someone help me? Below are the screenshots.

The account that is receiving the access request is listed as the Report Contact, the account also has full access on the Dataset and Report for resharing. The user is not part of the workspace however that the report was initially uploaded too.

I have set up a list of users within my company to be either View or Member access. However, other users within the company domain can still access the report just if they have the URL (e.g. we have a generic customerservice account that isn't on the list). Users on the list are sometimes logged into the cutomerservice account automatically and can still view the report as normal. How do I fix this?

I have a Power BI Pro license and I have published my Power BI reports in relevant workspaces on the Power BI Service. However, my reports are consumed via an embed on webpages.
My issue is that the end-user cannot go full-screen with the reports. If you look at reports "published to Web", there is a little 2-sided arrow icon on the bottom right of the Power BI Report. By clicking on this icon, the Power BI Report goes full screen. (here is an example: https://excellab.at/power-bi-report-samples/covid19-mortality-vaccinations/ )
However that icon seems to be missing on my embedded reports. Anyone knows about a workaround to this problem?

I published a Power BI Report with paginated report inside it (both files are in same workspace). I am able to view the report and export it via Power BI service but not via embedded application which we share with our clients.
Is the new visual supported for Power BI Embedded?
I made some changes to the published report on the service itself. after a few days, it got back to the original state how I published it. changes like removing a visual, moving a visual to another space. Please tell me why it is happening and solution to it?
I have a user complaining; that is seeing less rows than she should… (she sees 100, and should see around 150 rows)
My immediate guess is that the .pbix shall have some sort of RLS.
In fact, there are 2 roles: ‘Profit Center Restricted’ and ‘Read all’
The said user is not part of any of the two groups!!
How is it possible that the user sees any row without being in any of the groups in RLS?

I am the manager of a workspace with ~15 dashboards, and I'm trying to customize the request access message, but currently, it only allows message customization for the Build permission, and not the read permission. Is there a way I can customize message for the Read permission as well?
If not, is there an ability where I can send an automated customizaed email to every user who submits a request to access to a dashboard?

I'm having troubles including historic data (already implemented incr. refresh) to my datamodel.
Unfortunately it will always return the a kind of memory error (e.g. "The operation was throttled by the Power BI Premium because the operation was unable to reserve enough memory" in power BI Service or "'Memory error: You have reached the maximum allowable memory allocation for your tier. Consider upgrading to a tier with more available memory" in MSSQLSMS)
I understand that somehow the memory of the capacity is not enough, but I can't imagine why this is the case as we are already paying for Premium. Also I already excluded tables created within PowerBI (besides a simple calender) and don't have many new columns, which could be the reason for memory consumption after data is imported and the model gets recalculated. What I do have are some measures, but as I understood they just consume memory while using the report as they are "flexible". Also there are many tables, with some that have many million rows.
So as upgrading to higher capacity is pretty expensive I would like to try to manage without that. Can somebody maybe give tips on what are the possible reasons on high memory consumption that I could integrate?

Why are we now seeing the following alert message in Power BI Dataset Settings when taking over the configuration?
One or more cloud resources for this dataset have been deleted.
Recreate cloud data sources <-- this link shows a useless link to "mailto:" in a dialog box
We are using a local gateway connection only for this dataset / report. Our team should all "own" this together, without changes between users.
Is there a reason the settings get deleted every time you "take over" a dataset?

Has anyone come upon this issue where identity fields (image below) don't show in an excel report/pivot table when connecting to the data model? This has happened after updating the PBI model into the new view. PBI Desktop version is January 2021.

As you can see there are no fields in the pivot table in excel. This is happening for all columns which are primary keys in the data model - for instance the Date field from the DIM_Calendar as well.
Any tips on how to solve this?
