Losing lineage while taking over the report dataset settings
Hey,
I have a report pointing to power bi dataset, (Direct query, not a live connection. I am losing the lineage to the power bi dataset(BI Model) when I take over the report dataset settings for the report.
It looks like this before taking over
Once I take over, I lose the lineage here
Can anybody help me understand could be causing it?

'(Select All)'
Hey Everybody,
I am using the new feature that allows you to take a report in Power BI in the cloud, and convert it over to a report in Report Builder.
Anyway, the issue that I am having is that the report in Report Builder will not automatically default so that all fields within a slicer are selected. Currently, the end-user needs to select '(Select All)' in order to do so. Is there any way to have Report Builder automatically default to '(Select All)'?
I took a screen shot of what I am doing, but I am not able to show it for some reason.

How to show that the data is refreshing
When a report is pushed up to the server, it starts an automatic refresh of data. If the data is large, it takes a long time, and in that time, the report's data is not fresh/accurate.
How to stop the user from using the system at the refresh time, and/or effectively provide a warning on all pages?

Analyze in Excel issue -HTTP server returned the following error: Forbidden Activity ID: F5831E9F
When I using analyze in excel function on WIN10, the error message shows up in the excel(please see the screenshot):

Export .pbix file failed - Status code 403
I am not able to export a pbix file due to unknown reasons. I receive status code 403 directly after trying. Does anyone know what this means? Thanks for your help

Publish to web stopped working across all my embedded reports! WTAF
I have many reports available as "Published to web" these all worked quite happily for a long time. They all stopped working this week and users are getting "This content isn't available." error. Just to bypass irrelevant questions from support. no we are not using RLS, we do not have custom visuals, and ll worked in the past, but no longer!
New publish to web also not available on new repirts and this is causing a major blocker. Is this a major bug in PBIS??

Problem between Dataflow and Report
Hi,
I'm currently using dataflow to agregate multiple table and there no problem there.
However when I load the dataflow into my report some rows that look alike disappear.
I think the calculation optimizer is deleting some rows be cause when I load each table I don't have this loss of data.
I can't desactivate it and I'm not even sure this is the reason.
Is this a known bug, I didn't see much information on internet

Cant create subscription even with Premium capacity
I created a report on PBI Desktop, published it to PBI Services. Data is connected via personal gateway. When I tried to create a subscription it asked to upgrade for premium capacity. (Please note, I have a few RLS enabled as well)
I have upgraded only my account to Premium capacity. But even after that, when I try to create a subscription, it says as below:
Free users or groups can only be subscribed to reports or dashboards backed by Premium capacity.
Although I subscribed as premium capacity user, why this error is coming again? Please help.

Premium Per User workspace refresh time
I see that refresh times of Power BI Dataflows are potentially faster in a PPU workspace. Is this the same for datasets built off the Power BI Dataflows. I currently have a report that is taking 2 hours to refresh and I am wondering if this will make a difference
Our trial of PPU has been used up so I am not sure how I can test this.

"Share" a report in Power BI Service
Hello,
we had a closer look on the "Share"-feature that can be used when you are in a report for example.
We restricted the use of sharing to the whole organization, so we had a closer look at sharing to "Specific people".
I would have some questions about that:
1. It seems that when sharing a certain report to a specific person, this bypasses the Access rights that are given on the workspace where the report is located.
Is this correct?
2. To be able to "Share" a report, one needs to be a contributor, member or admin of the workspace. Is this right?
3. Is clicking on "Share" --> three dots --> "Manage permissions" the only way to find out to whom a certain report is shared?
If yes then this is very confusing as it does not show up in the Workspaces Access of course, but still users are able to access parts of the workspace (certain shared reports).

Why Power BI Service doesn't assume field date format in the slice objects?
Hello,
The only why that i've have to ensure slicers has the date format dd/mm/yyyy is to change default browser language to portuguese (which implies to change the browser shows language), all the english languages change it to mm/dd/yyyy, but user, is an english speaker, and still wants dates with dd/mm/yyyy format..
I've changed this in the browser, windows settigns and PBI Desktop settings to have it work. but all these 3 must be in portuguese.
How can we format slices for dd/mm/yyyy without changing the user computer to another language?
Would be easiest, to Power BI to assume the date format, that the field in slice has?

Big Query Oauth Silently Failing
Hello -
I have had several reports that are drawing from Google Big Query (built-in connector in pbix desktop) that have been running without issue for seveal months now. I had to change ownership of the workspaces that holds the reports and once I took those over, it is asking me to reauthenticate to BQ. Once I "edit credentials" for the BQ data source, It runs me through the oauth screen (pictured below) and I authenticate using the same credentials as always, I complete the steps on google oauth, but it takes me back to the same screen where I started.
I am able to refresh the data in pbix desktop, but it seems that the connection to BQ in the webservice is failing silently with not much direction.
Here is my set up / past attempts:
Browser: Chrome is my primary, but have also tried MS edge.
BQ:
a) Set up a google account with both the account that owns the workspace in PBI and the account that was orignally used to authenticate - neither made a difference
b) verified with my data engineers that the correct permissions are set up in GCP for both accounts
c) Made sure that the auth used in PBIX desktop matched what I tried in the Service. I published a report using both sets of creds and the desktop refresh worked with both, but neither worked in Service.
Service:
a) I have not taken over all workspaces yet, the ones that are still owned by the old account and they are still working.
I am not sure about:
- Is there a setting in the tenant where IT could be blocking this? -Not sure where that could be.

bug in the online service - Matrix visual - cross-filter deselect not working properly
In the desktop version, when I select 1 row of a matrix visual for cross-filtering it greys the remaining rows of the visual as intended. Then when I select that same row it returns all rows back to default text color, again, as intended.
With the online service version, the cross-filtering works as intended, however, when I select that same row, it stays filtered instead of returning all rows to default text color. I can select other rows and cross-filtering still maintains and works properly, but unless I select a non-row part of the visual I cannot return the table to default view.
Thoughts? 🙂
