Recently I have switched storage from Microsoft SQL server to Microsoft Storage table. Unfortunately this change resulted in significantly slower refresh time of the data. Especially the scheduled refresh in the server, this takes about 20 minutes for 300k rows.
Also, when I refresh manually in the service, it only takes a couple of minutes..
Is there a way to reduce the refresh time? And what would be the best alternative for MS storage table (taking costs into account)?

I have connected my Power BI Desktop file with Sharepoint and an external remote MYSQL server,
Now I would like to publish it to the Power BI Service, and have scheduled refresh.
I know that for Sharepoint, the refresh could be directly from the service, which means that I do not even need the desktop to run or have a gateway running.
My question is that: can it be the same for the remote MYSQL server?
If not, since it is not a local MYSQL server, does on-premises gateway still works? Or it is only possible to refresh the desktop file and re-upload?

Hello everyone, me again!
I have a dataset in Excel that is currently sent around quite a few offices. This dataset includes a user selector where the users can choose either a yes or a no and then a user editable comments column.
Once they all fill in the sheet with their answers and comments I run the next stage.
This is cumbersome and I figure there must be a simpler way with Power BI!
The closest I can seem to find for this functionality is something called Flow which I believe is a Powerapp (don't really know what a Powerapp is, assume some expensive add-on for functionality that should already be in the product).
Is there a way to build a simple report with just a Pivot Table with some filters and a user selectable Yes/No column that will save that response to either the original table or a linked table that I can then export into Excel? Preferably at no addidional cost to the server based "Pro" licence that my team has already had to buy.
My head say there must be a way to do something so simple, but perhaps I am wrong as a bit of google did not give me any easy to follow guides online.

My organisation desperately needs some oversight of power bi usage metrics - I've managed to get a PowerShell script working with task scheduler to export the daily usage into csv as per the solution on this blog: http://angryanalyticsblog.azurewebsites.net/index.php/2018/02/16/power-bi-audit-log-analytics-solution/
Due to export limits (<5000 rows/<90 days) we will need to build this up over time with the daily export.
We also have a SQL Server DW hosted on Azure so I was wondering if anyone had successfully used Azure Automate / runbooks load these csv's into our data warehouse as I feel like this is a more robust solution. Any ideas or suggestions - i've searched the entire PBI community on audit logs and it seems like no one has mentioned this solution?

I had a question regarding building a report in Power BI from a shared dataset.
Is it at all possible to connect to multiple Power BI shared datasets in a single report. The objective here is to model the data in the report itself (like done in SSAS) by connecting to several standardised datasets posted to Power BI service in form of Shared dataset?
I have tried doing so but the option to connect to another dataset is completely greyed out.

When clicking on "show as a table", the table shown seems to be blank at first. However, when hovering over, one can actually see the table content. What is buggy here and how do I resolve this?

My api gives me the current date data every time for new date and I want to store the historical data and to add the new current date data.
But while refreshing the data gets overwritten and the past data gets lost.
Please share any solution.

I hoping to get some guidance if there is anyway to create reports with RLS, publish to a workspace and still allow the members to create their own dashboards by pinning the visuals they want. To make RLS work, the user must be designated a member in the workspace and members must be set to only view content but that eleiminates their ability to pin visuals. Is there a best practice? Our Paginated reports in the service have many hyperlinks to separate reports also in the service. When accessing the reports via chrome/edge/IE, the hyperlinks are not clickable.
However when accessing the reports via the embed code, the hyperlinks are clickable; this is also the case when accessing the report via the Android app. The hyperlinks are not clickable on the iOS app.
Is this a known issue?/Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Does anyone know the way to set up an email notofication when REPORT is refreshed ? It seems that subscriptions work only once a day, but I need to send email notification to Business Owner every time when data set has been refreshed.

I have a dashboard on power bi desktop where I bring data from Analytics using de default Google Analytics connector.
Now I want to creat a gateway directly from Google Analytics to app.powerbi in order to refresh directly online.
I created a gateway that brings data from files, folders from my PC and from different webs but I can find de way to bring the data from Analytics.

Hi, I see an Incremental Refresh Data source error: The session was cancelled because it is connected to a database that is being evicted.
This is observed while running Incremental Refresh at Service and no error at PBI Desktop Refresh. The source is BigQuery view and volume of data refresh is 650MB.

I am trying to run python script on top of dataset available in sharepoint online. Due to limitation of python with PowerBI, on premise data gateway is not possible with python integration. Could you please confirm whether sharepoint online can be used without data gateway with python script.

For the last couple of weeks when attempting to refresh a dataset in Power BI Service, I keep getting an error message. I have updated to the October 2020 release of the Power BI gateway and was hoping that work resolve my issue but it hasn't. I'm able to open this report in Power BI desktop an refresh without any issues. The datasource is pulling from several different PDF documents get show the data on the report.
The error has a thing at the end saying "Unexpected version of pdf2text.dll: expected version=20, found version=18". But I'm not sure if that is something I can update or even how to update it. I have the full error message below.
