My role as a GateWay administrator is to connect all datasets with on-premises source to the gateway (report builders are not gateway administrators). Do I need access to all on-premises sources to setup the Data Source Settings in the gateway? If the source uses basic authentication then the username and password fields are mandatory... and when it uses OAuth2 it asks to enter my credentials...

Replacing a dataset : Cant open connected reports !!! HELP!
Hi,
I recently had problems with the refreshs in my dataflows and I read on the forum to replaced my whole dataset, so I did.
Seems i made a huge mistake!
Steps (what I did)
1. Removed the dataset from service
2. Published it again, same dataset/report
3. Everything works refresh wise but....NOOO!
The problem
All my connected reports (based on live connection to this dataset) cant find the proper connection.
Ok, this is all very natural (becuse i removed/replaced) but the peculiar is that I can´t change the connection or even OPEN the reports!!!
This is months and months of work now useless?
Below is pictures when i try to open the connected reports and I click edit.
Nothing happens, please help!

Failed refresh with updated data
Hey all,
In PBI workspace my organization encountered the following issue:
scheduled and manual refreshes of Live Connection (Analysis Service Tabular models) datasets fail with unexpected error.
"Last refresh" shows past dates for for dataset and report, but the actual data in report is updated with today's data:
We can't understand why it will show "Refreshed" from August, but the report itself will actually have updated current data from today.
The error simply states "Unknown error, please contact administrator". Using West Europe server.
We have "Scheduled Cache Refresh" every hour enabled for dataset.
Any assistance will be appreciated.

How to limit access to a report for a group which has permissions in a workspace
Hello everyone,
In a workspace some groups (G1, G2, G3) have access and all of them can access all contents within it.
Now I want to publish a new report to the workspace, but I don't want only group G3 to access this report.
Is there any way to do that?

he publicado un informe en mi cuenta de Power BI el cual obtiene los dota mediante DirectQuery. Cuando lo veo en el ordenador funciona perfectamente pero, cuando lo veo en el movil, solo funciona si tengo el ordenador encendido. Si el ordenador está apagado, me da error en todas las visualizaciones. ¿Sabeis cómo puedo solucionarlo? Necesito ver el informe desde mi casa, sin necesidad de tener encendido el ordenador del trabajo

Dear all, I made a report and published it to one of my workspace in power bi service .
I have a pro license.
Now when I added that report to app and updated app , visuals are showing only 0 all over .
And when I check in report it is showing correct values

Reordering columns when user export underlying data

Report view: Visualisation of Cards as static & publishing question
Hi Experts
I created in the report view, I have some card visualizations. Please can I make this cards which are like Totals and other sub totals static and always displaying instead of getting filtered based on my selection in other chart visualization.
I have disabled, cross reference etc but that has no impact
2. I published report via workspace and email ID to share. I changed the alignment in the my main reports and refreshed in the published link report (Sent to myself). I am not having the latest view in the published view. I want my published view to be dynamic wrt to data and reports, please advice.

Create support ticket as a pro user hidden?
Hi,
I'd like to create a support ticket as a pro user. Previously I just went to https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/ , scrolled down, and clicked create a ticket. But now I either do it without signing in and that redirects me to a whole different kind of support ticket as I'm treated as a free user, and that's not what I'm looking for, or I click sign in on top, but then it takes me to the https://app.powerbi.com page where I'm already signed in, but I can no longer find the option to create a ticket to MS support. How do you create a support ticket as a pro user?

Privacy and sharing of dashboards
Hello,
I am trying to decide if Power BI is the best program for my organization. We would like to publish dashboards/reports with confidential information and send them to clients (outside of my organization) who can share them as they wish. I don't want the clients and the people they share them with to have to buy Power BI Pro or have to install another program to read them. I was thinking something like a password protected webpage. What options does Power BI have which are similar to this? Or is it feasible at all?

Tab Level Security without Buttons
Is it possible to define a tab level security, meaning that the viewing of the different tabs in the report can be based on the user accessing it? Example: I have a report with Page 1 and Page 2 and I want Page 1 to be visible only to user 1 and page 2 only to user 2.
The possible solutions I have found include the use of buttons, example 1 and example 2, but the use of the buttons is not always a prefered solution by the business people. Is there any other possible solution to this?

Share Power BI Report to Entire Organization on Sharepoint
We need to share a Power BI Report to entire organization. To do that, we published report to premium workspace and then created an APP with permission set to entire organization. Then we embed the App URL on a sharepoint page. Few users when navigating to Sharepoint page, receive the message 'Content not available'. After they sign in to app.powerbi.com, they can see the report in sharepoint page. As we are publishing to entire organization, how can we dispaly report in sharepoint page to all users without asking them to signin to app.powerbi.com ?

Refresh Failed Due to Gateway Configuration - But All Source Files are on Sharepoint
I posted this to the Desktop forum but feel like it's more relevant here....
I created a Power BI report on desktop and have it published online. The report was built with the goal of giving someone else the PBIX file so that after the report was compelte, I would give them access so they can do their own updates/refreshes.
It was originally built with a couple of Excel files on my C: drive. I moved those files to Sharepoint and re-mapped my queries to pull from the organization's Sharepoint site.
When attempting to refresh the dataset in the O365 Power BI refresh in my workspace, I get the following error. It's my first time attempting to update something from here. The folders should all be pointing at Sharepoint, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be able to update.
I deleted the dataset and the report and republished, but it still gives me this error. Any insight?

Add Gateway Member to the existing Gateway Cluster through PowerShell
Hi All,
I have a scenario where I need to install and configure Gateway cluster through PowerShell
Step1: I was able to install and register the gateway cluster on the first node using PowerShell Add-datagatewaycluster cmdlet
Step2: I installed and configure the second node using PowerShell and then installed Gateway using PowerShell. Then I wanted to register the gateway as an additional member to the existing gateway through PowerShell. Please advise if there is any commandlet
Please note, if I configure the gateway manually on the second node, the node is added successfully added to the existing gateway cluster.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Viewing SharePoint PDFs in widget in Chrome security error
We have a report that contains a number of links to PDF files stored on our organization SharePoint site. When a user clicks on one of these links while in the Chrome or Firefox (and likely others, but not Edge) browser, the widget is blank, displaying only a little sheild icon. The tooltip on this icon reads:
This widget contains web content not provided by Microsoft. Web content could contain code with security or privacy risks.
Is there a workaround for this issue? Having the PDF open in the widget is really nice from an end user experience standpoint, but if we have to have them open in a new tab, that wouldn't be the end of the world. Just want to confirm that the current process is a dead end before proceeding.
