ODBC Connection error Gateway server

Hi,

 

I am trying to create a ODBC data source for Oracle and SNOWFLAKE on the Gateway server and i am getting following error

 

I have created ODBC connection in 64 bit DSN on the gateway server, but even then I am getting this error

How to create parameterised Reports in PowerBI similar to what we have in SSRS

Hello,

 

How to create parameterised reports(more than 1 parameter)  in PowerBI which are similar to SSRS pameterised reports.

And if parameterised reports are possible to create in PowerBI Desktop, can we publish them in PowerBI Service??

advanced date picker strange behaviour

Hello,

 

I am having an issue with the date picker advnaced search on power bi online.

 

I am using the Advanced filter option in Power Bi Online on a date field. It has been working fine until this month. I am using On or after and On or before as the date criteria. It is as if the On or after filter is enabled but locked, so the user can drop the date picker, select a date, but the date doesn’t change in the On or after filed, it actually updates the On or before date!

 

This is the same when going into Edit Report mode. All the other filters seem to work. Power Bi desktop also works ok.

 

The work around is to manually type the date into the field which works in the most part. But this is obviously not ideal, as the behaviour is confusing to say the least to users.

 

Any urgent help much appreciated.

Date Format differences between desktop and online

Hi,

 

I have some published report on power BI. The desktop app shows the date format in DD/MM/YYYY but when published the online versions show it in MM/DD/YYYY.

 

How can I correct this, I want both as DD/MM/YYYY?

How to configure autorefresh for web content?

I want to schedule an auto refresh for my report in the PBI Service, which contains web api calls to our corporate JIRA instance, and a pure Power Query M/DAX calendar table. I get the following error:

You can't schedule refresh for this dataset because one or more sources currently don't support refresh.

 However, I was able to add the web data source to my gateway, and it confirmed a live connection. What shall I do in this case?

AM-PM missing

Hello again,

 

I have some issue with PowerBi dashboard shared to client from another domain.

There is no AM/PM signature on line chart in his daschboard, when he moves coursor to it.

Those screanshoots should explain what i mean:

Export to Powerpoint (or PDF) through API

We have a scenario where we would like to take a "snapshot" of the report and send it as an email attachement.

 

The part where we need to send an email could be handled outside of the PowerBI service, but we need to find a programmatic way of exporting the report. Optimal would be as a PDF, but there seems to be no option of doing so (expect for Print > Print as PDF). What I've found is export to Powerpoint (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-publish-to-powerpoint).

 

Do you know if there is any way of programattically exporting a report from PowerBI.com as a Powerpoint file?

Could there be any potential licence violations doing so?

Logging into powerbi.com and internet explorer closes

For two days now, when I am in Internet Explorer version 11, and I go to powerbi.com, click on sign in, and Internet Explorer closes down. It happens every single time. Is anyone else having this issue? Strange that I can open it in Google Chrome, but not Microsoft's own browser.

Estou tentando instalar o Gateway, acontece que est[a retornarndo a mensagem de erro abaixo. Alguem tem ideia de como resolver?

Usage Metrics not working

Hello, 

 

We have multiple reports within a workspace, however we are unable to view usage metrics. We can across other reports so we find it strange that it has stopped working!

 

Can anyone advise?

RLS + Active Directory

Hi,

 

Is there a way to connect teams created inside Office with PowerBI RLS? In other words, applied security to different teams inside an organization? As company, we use Outlook as an email solution, alongside office products(Excel and others)

 

I have found some links that use Dynamic RLS but the input of employee will be static, I'm trying to find a dynamic source of employee that will be maintained by IT when people is fired or join the company.

 

Also, Is it possible to hide tabs for certain users?. Recently was released this feature and I'm curious if could work with RLS.

usage metrics not working for office 365 team

In the Power BI service I can view the usage metrics for a report when the report is in "My workspace" or in a workspace that was created as an Office 365 Group.

 

We have now started to roll out Office 365 Teams, and when I publish a report to this (several weeks ago) the Usage Metrics report is blank for usage (views per day, and unique views per day etc) and just shows a single value in "Total Reports in Organization" that agrees with the value on the Usage Metrics report in the other worspaces.

 

We have not tried "app workspaces" yet.

 

Is there a setting somewhere to switch on to capture usage metrics for content creators for teams? I have only read about switching it on for the tenancy.

gateway doesn't work with SQL server Stored procedure

The gateway option is greyed out on the Dataset settings window. A stored procedure is used to get the data from SQL server. Data connectivity mode is set as 'Impoort'.

 

Can anybody help?

Data refresh is failing with Invalid connection error

I  am getting Invalid connection error in Power BI Service while trying to resfresh my data set below are configuration not sure why 

Data credentials says access granted  ( Admin has granted access , credentials are not required)

Data source is SQL Server 2016 few tables.

I have on premesis gateway which is online , Data refresh from Power BI desktop work but from Power BI service it fails.

Can only publish 12 reports in a Power BI App?

We have workspaces with more than 12 reports in them.  When we publish the workspace as a Powe BI App only 12 reports show i the Content tab of the publish screens AND when we publish only 12 are published.  We have 15 reports in one of the workspaces so we are missing 3 reports.

 

We are all on Pro licenses and are not using Premium.

 

Is 12 the limit?  I can't find that documented anywhere as a limit.

 

It is possible that the workspaces in question were created before Premium adn App Workspaces (i.e. the are actually group workspaces.)

unable to load the model in Subscription Email Sent

Hi there,

 

I have set a subscibtion on PowerBI. It has been working well until a couple weeks ago, it starts to randomly send me a report with "Something went wrong - Unable to load the model" error msg. 

 

As the email subscibtion sent as an image (png), I could not check the technical detail.

 

 

My refresh is scheduled to run daily at 5AM. When I click to go to report to check the technical details, the report actually loads fine. 

 

Could anyone please advise what I can do to fix this problem?

Couldn't Load the Schema for the Database Model

Problem, certain users are getting "Couldn't Load the Schema for the Database Model - We couldn't retrieve the data model for this report. Please try again later."

 

The Power BI report is published in a Premium workspace and distributed via an app to Power BI Free users. It connects directly to a data model in Azure Analysis Services where RLS is applied.

 

Users report when they view the report, some data is show for a moment, and then replaced by X's and the above error message.

 

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Subscription service not sending emails

Hi

 

I have an issue where subscription emails are only being sent to a single address and no other. I have shared the dashboard with several users and only one of them is getting an email in the morning with the dashboard. The user that created the dashboard and is subscribed is not getting any mail whatsoever.

 

Please help.

Files Greater Than 1 GB

Dear All, 

 

Why can't we upload files greater than 1 GB? I think MIcrosoft  should add this feature. Is there poll or something like this so that we send this message to MIcrosoft?
