Issue with the slicers

Hi,

I have a slicer for Plant Names and Fiscal Period with the "Select All" option enabled. However, when I hover over a plant name, it replaces "Select All" with that plant name instead of keeping "Select All."

This issue occurs across all dashboards in Power BI Service, but it works fine in Power BI Desktop.

Has anyone faced this issue before? How can I fix it?

Thanks in advance!

RLS on region level

I am trying to apply RLS such that, I have an excel file with user email and region and main table containing data with region
I want to create a role such that, if one user belonging to specific user logs in should see the entire data for that region including others belonging to the same region and not only their data

Following is the role I am trying to apply on the Main Table, however there is no impact,

I want to keep the access dynamic instead of creating role for each region.

MainTable[Region] =
LOOKUPVALUE('Access File for Region'[Region],'Access File for Region'[Email],
USERPRINCIPALNAME())

Maximum number of scheduled refreshes at a time for A2 and A3 capacity

Hi there,

I would like to schedule refresh for all the datasets in my capacity at a time, once a day. Is there any restriction that how many datsets can be refresh at a time for A2 and A3 capacities? Is there a chance that it will exceed the limits? As per documentation, I read we can schedule as many refreshes and Power Bi will take care of the execution. Please can someone elaborate how this work?

Thank you for the response.

Hi,

Question regarding Power Automate and Power BI Service.
Is there any option to make fields for workspace name and report name dynamic in Power Automate - step Export to file for paginated report?
At the moment there is only dropdown list to select value. However, I have multiple reports in a workspace whihch I have to export in excel format. Would it be possible to use dynamic fields inside loop so that one flow goes over all reports and export all of them.

Please share example of dymamic content if possible please.

Thank You.

Error in accessing the credentials of semantic model

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to access a Power BI semantic model using the API, but I keep running into an "Invalid Token" error. I've followed the authentication process, but something seems to be off.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  • Used Azure AD to authenticate and get a token
  • Passed the token in the API request headers
  • Ensured that I have the right permissions in Power BI
  • Tried different scopes and grant types

Despite this, I still keep getting the "Invalid Token" error. Has anyone faced this issue before? Any advice on what might be going wrong or how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Snowflake Data Source Will Require Key-Pair Authentication - Connector Update Inquiry

The Snowflake data source connector has previously used username and password as the authentication method. We typically use a service account in Snowflake to connect to Snowflake. However, beginning sometime in April 2025, they will no longer accept single-factor password authentication and require key-pair authentication. They will block all attempts to log into Snowflake using a password. Will the Snowflake connector begin rolling out an authentication option to allow us to use key-pair authentication instead? We want to get ahead of this issue before all our gateways fail.

Power BI reports not loading Showing message 'Loading your report'

Hi,

Multiple users in my workplace are facing issues loading published Power BI reports.

There are no error messages, when a user opens a report (being from a published App or in a workspace) they see message 'Loading your report'

mtomova_0-1742397887837.png

This does not seem to be an issue with the internet, because the users who have reported this are based in different offices across the UK.

Not all users in these offices are affected.

Does anyone know if there is a Power BI outage today?

I could not find anything online.

Thanks,

Maria

I recently changed my password and i'm no longer able to connect and i'm receiving the following error message:

PBI Link prompting Fabric "Enter your email, we'll check if you need to create a new account."

Users at my org are getting this error for reports that they have always had access to. Is this a fabric issue? Report is embedded as a link in a third party piece of software/UI (Deltek).

Is this a Microsoft Fabric issue? Anyone else seeing this? The key piece of info is that permissions have not changed, and the prompting to login IS the issue from the user's persepective (and they are not wrong).

Eerily similar to a Microsoft issue in 2022-->

Python Visual (Waterfalldiagram) in PowerBI Services (Cloud) doesnt work

$

Dear all,

I've created a waterfall diagram in Power BI Desktop. It works without any issues with the Python script visualization. However, as soon as I upload the file to Power BI Services and generate a report to share across the company, the diagram disappears. In the visual center, the Python module is not displayed, and it seems that Python code cannot be used in Power BI Services. This is quite concerning, as I'm almost finished and it worked really well, but now it seems like my work has been undone. Could you please take a look and let me know if anyone has any tips?

Power BI premium peruser: Does it make sense to downgrade Power bi pro and combine it with Fabric

$

I am thinking about the companies that have Power BI Premium per user,  I would like to know if this approach make sense or in with cases it would make sense:

This license is designed for organizations that mainly require more storage, more updates, data flow, and some AI features. Price increase in April: $20 to $24.

Since most of these features are already included in Fabric, we could consider downgrading to Power BI Pro.

In this way, we could propose Fabric with the same benefits as the previous scenario—i.e., all the Fabric experiences, Dataflow 2, Direct Lake, etc.—but at a lower price. How?

For example, if the company wants to work with 50 users and use premium features in Power BI (like data flow + advanced AI, etc.), they can get 50 PPU licenses at a cost of 50 x $24 = $1.2K per month. However, if the company opts for an F2 plus 50 Pro users, the total cost will be $264 + $700 = $964 per month. This way, the total cost is lower, and the company can use the same Power BI premium features that are included in fabric plus more Microsoft Fabric tools.

thanks in advance

Hi,

We are currently switching from Premium per User to F64 and I was told by Microsoft that the 25Go size limitation is for all semantic models across the capacity. Do you confirm ?

Thanks and regards
