The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure when trying to log in.

Hello everyone.

I am having an issue connecting to my data source from the app.powerbi with the intention of having the data constantly updated. I want to connect to my data warehouse, which is in PostgreSQL. The error that I have is the following:

Failed to update data source credentials: An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.'

I managed to connect from the desktop APP, which I had the same problem but I solved it by turning off the encrypted connection because we do not use SSL and worked. I edited the following in the data source in PBI Desktop:

Screenshot 2020-06-23 at 16.59.31.png

But then, in order to set the schedule refresh in the web app, I try to log in again to set it up and I have the issue again:

 Screenshot 2020-06-23 at 17.01.00.png

Is there a way to do the same that I did in PBI desktop but in the web app and disable the encryption or any other way to make this work?

Thank you so much!

Error Code: DMTS_PublishDatasourceToClusterErrorCode

Hi all,

I'm receiving the following error when trying to hook up an On-premises data gateway to SQL Server (text of error contained within spoiler).

I'm able to connect to the SQL Server via ODBC. I've tried using both "Basic" and "Windows" authentification method. I've also tried to manually access the database with no issue and I've had no issues setting up a personal gateway, it just seems a regular on premises returns the Error Code: DMTS_PublishDatasourceToClusterErrorCode. Does anyone have anything that can help with this?

Kind regards,

Jordan

Publishing Pagianted Reports Unable To Access Report

I am one of two people publishing pagainted reports to premium workspaces, I can publish the reports and users can access with no issues, while the other person who is also an admin of the workspace who publishes a report, people can't access the reports unless I "take over" the datasource. There are one or two workspaces that they are able to publish reports to without issues but all workspaces are configured the same way, and all reports are pointing to the same azure SQL database.

The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal server error - when refreshing using JIRA C

Hi,

Since last week (19th June) all my reports have been failing to refresh with an internal service error. I reveived an email saying it is a transient issue and to try again later, but after waiting over the weekend and this far into the week, I don't see it getting fixed.

I am connected to JIRA data using the OData data connector with the AIO Power BI JIRA data connector

LR2020_0-1592937755576.png

The Odata url connects to a number of tables in JIRA, which I then merge together using the query editor in PBI desktop. The queries seem to load fine when they are independent of each other. But when I merge them together I get the above error.

Nothing has changed in the query since it last ran successfully.

I have also tried to reduce the size of the data returned, with no luck.

Has anyone else come across an issue like this? Would greatly appreciate any insight anyone could offer.

Thanks,

Lee

Sort a Filter in the Filter Pane, excluding the values all together or sending them to the bottom

Hi,

In the Filter Pane, I would like to take the filter for Customer Name and narrow the filter list to exclude the customers whose name begins with '"&'

kpostupac_1-1592939145730.png

I know that if I utilize a slicer, I can use the Filter pane to narrow down the results of the slicer to the correct customers.

But I would like to have all of the filters in one place (in the blue filter pane)

kpostupac_2-1592939372424.png

Another thing to note is that I do NOT want to exclude the customers from the report altogether. I just want to narrow the list of the filter pane.

If narrowing down the list of customers in the filter pane is not possible, can I sort the values in a way that makes the "& customers appear at the bottom of the list?

Showing Representative Sample for Continuous Linear Date Axis

Hi,

I am trying to show single patient sub-status over time by using a bar chart with a continuous linear x-axis from Date[full_date] but it is not producing the chart saying "There are too many 'Full Date' values. Showing Representative Sample. Filter the Data or choose another field."

My data is set up with a value per patient per day and the y-axis is just a distinct count of patient (so its always 1). Whats weird is that on the same page using the same table, it is populating for Status, but the sub status is not populating. Looks fine in desktop but does not render in Serviceerror messageerror messageMissing bars because it is showing representative sampleMissing bars because it is showing representative samplesame exact chart but using Status instead of sub-status renders without issue.same exact chart but using Status instead of sub-status renders without issue.

Using Live Connection to SSAS tabular model.

Table looks like (also related to DimDate and can pull date from there):

Full Date          Patient ID           Sub-Status

6/1                         A                         Pending Appeal

6/2                        A                         Pending Appeal

6/3                        A                         Waiting for Docs

6/3                        B                         Pending Appeal

6/3                        C                       Waiting for Docs

The visual is for a single patient, and were only talking about 6 months of data, i dont get whats the issue here

Is there a way around this?

Paginated Report Subscription

Hello,

I am using PowerBI premium and plan to send paginated reports in PDF format to users. When I subscribe, for example, 5 users to a paginated report. It sends 5 seperate emails to the users so the users cannot tell who else received the paginated report. Is there a way to "group" the subscribed users so all 5 users receive one email with the paginated report and can see who all received the subscription?

thanks

how can i create a dataset to use as a template for all my reports?

$

0

Hello, I'm very new to PBI and I'm trying to create a dataset with all my dax expressions (for example, GlobalSales = sum (sales)). This was a simple example, but the idea is to have a dataset with all the expressions gathered for those who are going to create a report, use this dataset and do not run the risk of making a mistake.

The challenge here is that I would like this dataset to come from a ready-made report (as this way I know that the expressions have already been validated and are correct)

what would be the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance

Remove user access in dataset permission but not in workspace permission

Hi all!

I'm trying to organize my company's reports as they are growing everyday! One of the workspace we have is for the entire company. However, a few reports should only be accessed by specific departments. I'd like to keep the workspace permission to "all_users". But I'd like to remove "all_users" within specific datasets, and just add subgroups.

I'm able to remove user group in the workspace permission. But I do not have the option to remove access from "manage permssion" in datasets. Is this my user profile permission issue? Or is this not possible to do? What are my options?

Thank you for your help!

The problem with the scheduled update data through the gateway

Hello

I have 3 reports with the same data sources, which are updated through the data gateway.

2 reports are updated normally.

One report invariably returns an error.

Error code:
{"error": {"code": "DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_RuntimeCheckFailedError", "pbi.error" {"code": "DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_RuntimeCheckFailedError", "parameters": {}, "details": []}}} Table: name_table.

I understand that swears on the table name_table. But I don’t understand what is wrong with her.

I did not find this error on the forum or similar errors from someone via google. I would be grateful for the help / advice.

One report (PBIX) For Different client and different SQL server connection

Hello,

I have multiple clients (Web applications) pointing to different SQL server database (same schema).

I have created a power bi report (PBIX) and I am embeding it to my web application through REST API.

Is it possible to get report from same PBIX for different clients from their respective database data?

for example if I make a call using REST API from client1 I get that client1's database data and if I make a call from client2 I get that client2's database data displayed on report.
