Change source for AS model from Azure SQL database to Fabric Warehouse

Hi community,

I have a question and I hope the knowledge within this community can help me out.

In the current situation, I have soms Analysis Services (tabular) models in Azure Analysis Services, which I use for Power BI reporting eventually. The current data source for these AS models is an Azure SQL database.

In my new environment, we have migrated the data to Fabric Lakehouse, and we have build a Fabric Warehouse for our DWH purposes. Actually, we have exactly the same tables (dimensions and facts) in the Fabric Warehouse now as we had in the Azure SQL database. Table names, columns names etc. are the same.

What I want now is to keep the Analysis Service models intact, because all tables, relations and measures there are fine. I just want to change the connection to fill this AS model from Azure SQL Server to Fabric Warehouse. But I can't find a godo way of guide to do this, so I wonder if it's even possible. However, it does not make any sense to me that I have to rebuild a complete AS model just because the data now comes from a Fabric Warehouse and not longer from Azure SQL database.

Does anyone has experience with this and can help me out?

Regards, Mike
