Hi All,
Our team is working on a project to embed Power BI reports on to one of of our web pages. The idea is to provide quality reports for our external stakeholders. We were going down the path of Power BI embedded workspace collections. But now, with the advent of Power BI premium and convergence of Power BI embedded and Power BI service we are interested in how to achieve embedding of reports published on Power BI service.
There are many articles on how to embed the reports published on Power BI service and we even managed to embed a report on to a sample page. While these articles provide clear instructions on how to embed the reports published on Power BI service, there is no mention of how Row Level Security will be implemented using this new way of embedding. With old Power BI embedded, we had apptokens which provide username() and role() elements that we can use to achieve row level security but I don’t see any mention of them in these articles.
Row level security is critical for our implementation and we are unable to take a decision due to lack of clarity on how it will be implemented in the new method.
Can someone please divulge some information on this. It will be great if one can clarify whether RLS is supported for embedding reports published on Power BI service, what will be timeline for availability of RLS (if it is not available already) and most importantaly how to achieve it.
Thanks in advance.
