On-Premises Data Gateway: We get the error mentioned above after successfully creating a new gateway.
This is what we did:
- Install the gateway on a VM and change the service user to an AD-user according documentation.
- Configuring the proxy like it's described in the documentation (Every Port 443-URL for the mentioned AD-user)
- Got an account for the tenant I want to connect to.
- Input account's credentials. In the beginning we had connection issues that where resolved when the AD-user was given the "Local Admin" role. (That's not documented, is it?) While looking into this, we also verified the correct proxy settings.
- We finally managed to enter the tenant account, successfully connect to the tenant and click "Configure".
- Following this, the configurator shows this error:
- On the other hand, when we log in to PowerBI.com and switch to "Manage Gateways" it shows that the gateway was successfully created plus the same error message:
Conclusion:
- It seems that both the Service User and then Account are able to get over the proxy to the service in order to create and configure a gateway. But after that, the connection can't be made.
- I couldn't find any posting in the web concerning this problem, thus i wrote a new post. I can't think of a way to investigate further at this point - i'm stuck.
What are we missing here? Any hint is greatly appreciated!
