Hi guys,
I'm experiencing a massive bug while using shared dataset which is causing some trouble in my organization.
I got a master dataset, where I define our common datamodel.
Im currently building all reports around that cdm, meaning for each department I create a new PBIX where I load in the master dataset, create a report and share this to their own department workspace.
Now, I'm experiencing quite some deviations between the data in the new PBIX and the source data.
I cannot think about how this can happen nor how I can fix that, I'm pretty sure there is something wrong on microsofts side.
I build a detailled sales and returns table for my accounting department, where every invoice/ return position is listed in a table visual, so they can export to excel and do their stuff.
We do this with power bi, because I need to pull data from different databases and do quite some calculations to manipulate the data so my accounting department can work with it.
The data they export from the table visual I build in the new PBIX (which got the cdm dataset as source) is showing deviations from the source dataset, although everything is the same (filters, table structures, fields etc.).
I did some controlling in excel to compare the 2 dataset (which should be exactly equal, cause one is the source of the other) and identified the rows with deviations, there's like 5% deviations, which is too much for accounting for sure. (Actually, from the structure I build this there should be exactly 0% deviations.)
Im not adding anything in the PBIX, just working with the measures etc. from the original dataset im pulling the data from. I identified the deviations at the accounting report, since I can get the controlling done on row level.
I checked some other reports I build in the same procedure (pulling data from cdm etc.) and am also experiencing those deviations.. (only visible in sums here cause of the nature/purpose of those reports).
Im kinda desperate to get this fixed.
(2/4 of my bosses are still not quite convinced of power bi, so that bug now doesnt really help.. ).
I highly appreciate anyone who takes the time and tries to help me out on this!
Best regards,
Jano
